Studio McGee is a multi-disciplinary interior design firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah, known for creating beautifully balanced spaces that are both classic and current.

In addition to our portfolio of luxury design clients both domestic and international, Studio McGee creates thoughtful, guide-focused design and lifestyle content for fans to replicate the Studio McGee aesthetic on their own, the Netflix-based television series Dream Home Makeover, two best-selling books, Make Life Beautiful and The Art of Home, as well as partnerships with preeminent brands including Target, Kohler, Ann Sacks, and MasterClass.

Drawing from the expertise of Shea and the Studio McGee aesthetic, we're an editorial platform, lifestyle destination, and trusted design resource, celebrating the art of living well through design, food, travel, and fashion.
Product Design
Our sister site and product arm, McGee & Co., features exclusive furniture pieces and styling accessories by Shea McGee, as well as collaborations and partnerships with companies that share in the McGee & Co. aesthetic.

Through The Years
2014
The Beginning
It all started when Shea remodeled and designed the first home She and Syd shared together. Documenting it all on social media grew a loyal following. Before long, the potential of designing fulltime was realized. With this momentum, Syd and Shea launched Studio McGee in 2014.
2016
McGee & Co.
Syd and Shea began sharing content on StudioMcGee.com and launched a YouTube channel. As the ways we shared were expanded, Shea realized a dream (and need) for designing and curating products of her own. McGee & Co., our e-commerce brand with all the best pieces in one place, launched in 2016.
2018
The McGee Home
A portfolio-making project of ours was Red Ledges with Killowen Construction. It was the first project we did with Killowen, and we'd partner with them again to construct the McGee family home. After renting for years, it was Syd and Shea's turn to create their very own dream home, breaking ground in 2018.
2020
Expanding Our Reach
Syd and Shea wrote their NYT best-selling book Make Life Beautiful, profiling the start of Studio McGee and their life together. 2020 also saw the beginning of a long-running partnership with Target and the release of the first season of Dream Home Makeover in collaboration with Netflix.
2022
The Headquarters
As season 3 of Dream Home Makeover was debuting on Netflix, we realized that the Studio McGee team had grown significantly since 2014, and it was time for us to design a brand-new office that would properly fit all of the teams working behind the scenes. 2022 was the year of expansion in our home city of Salt Lake City, Utah.
2024
Partnerships and Beyond
During the year leading up to the ten-year anniversary of Studio McGee in 2024, we launched partnerships with Kohler and Ann Sacks, released Shea's Session on MasterClass called Design a Space You Love, debuted our first coffee table book, The Art of Home, and took on our first international design project, Cabo Dos Vistas.
